A juvenile Griffon Vulture Gyps fulvus in flight over Mount Carmel, Hai-Bar Nature Reserve in Israel. The brown feathers at the base of the neck show it is a young bird (adults have a white collar ruff); the lack of rings and tags at this time of year implies that this one has not yet been caught, ringed, and tagged by ornithologists..
