LOS ANGELES -- The 49ers’ iron man had his season end prematurely. Left guard Laken Tomlinson, the team’s only player to log every offensive snap in the first 15 games, was carted off in the second quarter of a 48-32 loss to the Rams with a possible torn ACL in his right knee. Tomlinson was making his 31st straight start. “He’s been a very good player,” Shanahan said. “Hoping for good news on him. If not, I know he’ll do his rehab and be ready at some time next year. He’s a huge part of what we do.” If Tomlinson has a torn ACL, he presumably wouldn’t be ready for the start of the 2109 regular season. On Sunday, he was replaced by Joshua Garnett, a 2016 first-round pick who has been plagued by injuries throughout his career.
