It’s believed the trade is contingent on medical reviews of the players. If the deal is consummated, it could open a roster spot for power-hitting prospect Chris Shaw, who has hit 24 home runs for Triple-A Sacramento. The deadline for contenders to acquire players and have them eligible for the postseason is 9 p.m. Friday.
